Fender Jaguar is another solid-body electric guitar model introduced in 1962 by Fender. This model has an offset body, rosewood fretboard and an unusual floating vibrato system (very similar to the Jazzmaster model). But its pickups are more similar in design and sound to the Stratocaster’s pickups. This guitar has never been very popular and after several upgrades it was finally discontinued in 1975.
In the 1990s the Jaguar has got a new lease of life with alternative, grunge and indie rock bands. Fender Jaguar was played by John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) and many more.
