The Ibanez S series was introduced in the 1987 and is being produced and successfully distributed until present. This series is also known as the Ibanez Saber series and since 1987 there have been produced over 40 models of it. The main feature of the Ibanez S series is its sleek and thin (1 inch thick) mahogany body. Most models in this series also have a bolt-on maple neck with 22 frets and a double-locking tremolo. This series was created for playing metal music. Ibanez S guitars sound heavy and have a very distinctive design. But they became popular among many musicians in many genres from hard rock and extreme metal to blues and gospel.
