Yamaha Pacifica was first introduced in 1990. This series of electric body guitars is well known for its great playability, versatility and outstanding tone. It was initially designed as a test guitar in California, USA at the local Yamaha’s shop by Rich Lasner and Leo Knapp. Later it was chosen for mass production by Yamaha’s Japanese office. Nowadays all Pacifica models have solid bodies with 2 body shape designs – Stratocaster-like double cutaway body shape and Telecaster-like single cutaway shape.
Yamaha Pacifica guitars have bolt-on or set neck, one humbucking pickup plus two single pickups equipped with a 5-way switching of its pickup configuration or 1 humbucker plus 1 Hot Rails. Some of Pacifica models are designed for entry-level musicians, but there are also models for professional musicians.
